The Ribera Del Guadiana wine region is located in Extremadura and it’s the second largest wine region in Spain. Its name comes from the river Guadiana that crosses its vineyards from east to west.
Wines from this Denominación de Origen have had a quality jump the last couple of years, thanks mainly to an upgrade of its wineries and the emphasis of its wine growers on quality and creativity. The grape most used in the Ribera Del Guadiana wine production is Tempranillo, nevertheless there are more than 29 grape varieties grown in the region.
Among the wine labels that we would recommend from Ribera Del Guadiana are: Equus , a coupage of Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah grapes; Habla Del Silencio, also a mix of Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah and Los Balancines Matanegra, made with Tempranillo,Cabernet Sauvignon and Garnacha Tintorera.
